Revving Up Motorcycle Storage with Shipping Containers

Century Container Services, a premier provider of shipping containers, we asked by their client, Act Fast NL, a well-established independent school near Scunthorpe in North Lincolnshire, to innovatively address motorcycle storage challenges at the school, demonstrating the versatility of shipping containers in niche markets.

Revving Up Motorcycle Storage with Shipping Containers

Challenge:

Safely storing motorcycles that required secure, easily accessible storage. Traditional garages were costly, took longer to construct, and lacked the modular adaptability the client desired. They were looking for a solution that was cost-effective, scalable and could potentially be relocated with ease.

Solution:

Century Container Services presented a tailored solution using its shipping containers using a 40ft used shipping container that was divided into nine individual compartments, each with its own door to safely store motorcycles:

Enhanced Security: Designed for global over-seas transportation, shipping containers are inherently robust and tamper-proof. This ensures that the motorcycles are safe from theft, vandalism and harsh weather conditions.

Scalability: As the clients’ fleet grew, additional containers could be procured and set up with minimal effort, providing an adaptable and scalable storage solution.

Space Efficiency: Shipping containers are designed for optimal space utilisation. With custom modifications, they can be outfitted with racks or shelving systems, allowing for organised storage of motorcycles, parts, and accessories.

Cost Savings: Compared to constructing traditional garages or renting external storage spaces, the containers presented a more economical upfront investment.

Portability: If the client decided to relocate or set up other locations, the containers could easily be transported, providing a mobile solution.

Customisation: Century Container Services customised the interiors to cater specifically to motorcycles, with provisions for ventilation, moisture control and ease of access.

Outcome:

The client successfully transitioned to using used shipping containers as their primary storage solution. The cost savings, coupled with the enhanced security, gave them a competitive advantage. The modular nature of the containers also allowed for adaptability and future scalability.

The client tells us:

“We are delighted with the container, it looks amazing. From the first initial call to ordering it was seamless, we had regular contact throughout the build involving us in each step of the development, we were reassured as you invited Peter down to confirm any major designs and potential changes, this filled us with confidence in your company and product.

The delivery was seamless, as the location that I had chosen for the container was in a challenging position, this did not phase them and instead of opting for the easy solution, they were more than happy to oblige, which I was very grateful for.

I would definitely recommend your company, Century Containers, to anyone who wishes to obtain a bespoke container.  I look forward to doing business with you in the future.

Thank you once again.

Kind regards

Peter & Cheryl Sembiante
